NO RIGHT ANSWER: A Look at the Evolving Ethical Framework for Consumer Capacity, Choice and Consent

Drawing upon case studies from both law and medicine, this workshop seeks to provide participants with an overview of recent approaches in the burgeoning field of public policy ethics to such issues as autonomy, capacity, pluralism and rationing. Emphasis will be placed on conflicts arising from divergent cultural and religious viewpoints, and upon the right to refuse care.
