Margaret Gould
Vision Center for Creative Management
This 3-week course, sponsored by The InterAgency Council of MR/DD Agencies, Inc. in collaboration with the Vision Center for Creative Management and Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) is designed to assist agency staff with enhancing supervisory strategies and approaches.

Appropriate, timely, and effective supervision are critical to the development of a supportive and cooperative workplace.  The keys to effectiveness are the application of strong strategies that build team approaches, promote strong communication among staff, and clarify and direct work to ensure outcomes are realized.  This requires managers to approach their position with strength and purpose.  This course highlights management theories and practices.  It also includes scenario exercises that are designed to help build skills to apply supervisory strategies to ensure that your program is running smoothly.

This course is set up in a modular format, is offered online to IAC Members only, and is designed to take approximately 12-15 hours to complete, depending on individual schedules and personal learning styles.  The course is available 24 hours a day/ 7 days per week for a three week period, Monday, February 27th, 2012 through Friday, March 16th, 2012, allowing participants to log in and out as suits their schedule.  Contact the IAC Training Institute, training@iacny.org, with any questions regarding this course.
